Refrigeration Maintenance Technician

The Best Dressed Chicken Division is seeking highly skilled and dedicated Refrigeration Maintenance Technicians to join its Hatchery operations in St. Catherine, Jamaica. This pivotal role is essential for maintaining the precise environmental conditions crucial for the healthy development of chicks across multiple hatchery locations, as well as ensuring the reliability of HVAC systems and infrastructure within offices and reefer trucks.

Key Responsiblities

The successful candidate's key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting scheduled general repair maintenance and performing regular servicing on a diverse range of domestic and commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment.
• Installing HVAC ductwork, utilising both flexible and sheet metal construction techniques.
• Executing routine and preventative maintenance on a comprehensive array of hatchery equipment and infrastructure.
• Performing plumbing and electrical tasks as required to support seamless facility operations.
• Proactively identifying potential operational issues and implementing preventative strategies to minimise disruptions.
• Maintaining accurate records detailing maintenance activities and equipment status.
• Adhering to all established safety protocols and regulations.
• Travelling between the company's hatchery locations as needed.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Extensive experience as a Refrigeration Maintenance Technician, ideally gained within an industrial or manufacturing environment, to ensure optimal system performance.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial and industrial HVAC systems, enabling swift diagnosis and effective resolution of complex issues.
• Proven skills in HVAC ductwork installation (flexible and sheet metal) to execute professional and reliable installations.
• A strong ability to contribute to operational efficiency through proficient execution of routine and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Valuable basic plumbing and electrical skills to enhance our existing capabilities.
• Exceptional problem-solving and diagnostic capabilities to minimise downtime and maximise productivity.
• The ability to thrive in both independent and collaborative team settings, contributing positively to collective success.
• An unwavering commitment to precision and delivering high-quality results in every task.

Other Requirements:

• Certified expertise (Level 2 or Level 3) in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration from an accredited institution.
• Adaptable to flexible shift schedules, including weekends and public holidays.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation is an advantage for this role.
• Available to work on a contractual basis.
