VACANCY

The Best Dressed Chicken Division is seeking a meticulous and disciplined Temporary Laboratory Attendant to join our Health Services and Laboratory Department, located in White Marl, St. Catherine. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our testing processes, ensuring that our products continue to meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe laboratory environment in accordance with strict hygiene standards.
  • Assisting with the collection, labelling, and preparation of samples for analysis.
  • Ensuring the integrity of samples by following rigorous contamination prevention protocols.
  • Operating and maintaining basic laboratory equipment with care and precision.
  • Maintaining accurate logs and documentation for all laboratory activities.
  • Strictly adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and health and safety guidelines.

 

Key Duties 

Laboratory Support

  • Assist laboratory personnel with the preparation and movement of samples, materials, and equipment.
  • Label, sort, and organize laboratory samples and testing materials.
  • Prepare laboratory glassware, containers, and tools for testing activities.
  • Dispose of laboratory waste in accordance with safety and environmental procedures.
  • Replenish laboratory supplies and consumables as needed.

Cleaning and Housekeeping

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the laboratory, workstations, sinks, storage areas, and equipment.
  • Ensure floors, benches, and laboratory surfaces are kept clean and free from contamination.
  • Perform routine cleaning of laboratory utensils and equipment after use.
  • Ensure proper storage of chemicals, tools, and supplies where applicable.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, laboratory procedures, and hygiene standards.
  • Wear and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Follow food safety, quality assurance, and environmental standards where applicable.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions as required.
