QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN

The successful candidate will be required to conduct monitoring and measurement activities at the Poultry Processing Plant to confirm that the established procedures for ensuring food safety and quality are maintained throughout the production, cold storage and distribution cycles at the Best Dressed Chicken Processing Plant.  He/She is also expected to document, analyze and maintain information obtained from all activities to fulfill regulatory, customer and operational requirements.

The ideal candidate should possess the following essential criteria:

• A minimum of a Diploma in Agro-Food Processing, Food Science, Food Chemistry or related discipline or a Level 3 HEART Certificate with at least three (3) years’ work experience in a food processing environment;

• Thorough knowledge of poultry and meat products and processing thereof.
• Working knowledge of ISO, HACCP, Risk Management  and Allergen Control, GMP, sensory evaluation, Organoleptic skills/techniques.
• Thorough understanding of how to conduct sensory evaluations.
• Knowledge of Food Microbiology.
• Understanding of statistical process control.
• Ability to organize and develop standardized tests on products and material.
• Knowledge of the company, government and industry quality assurance and regulatory
• standards.
• Formal training in animal welfare practices
• Well developed interpersonal, communication, analytical, diagnostic and time management skills. Effective problem prevention, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
• Valid Food Handlers’ card.
