The Best Dressed Chicken division of Jamaica Broilers Group Limited invites applications for the position of Assistant Quality Assurance Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing monitoring and measurement activities within the Cold Room Department, with the primary objective being to ensure strict adherence to all operational, quality, and food safety standards and regulations.

The ideal candidate should possess the following essential criteria:

Qualification and Experience

• A minimum of a Diploma in Agro-Food Processing, Food Science, Food Chemistry or related discipline or a Level 3 HEART Certificate with at least three (3) years’ work experience in a food processing environment.
• Thorough knowledge of poultry and meat products and processing thereof.

• Working knowledge of ISO, HACCP, Risk Management  and Allergen Control, GMP, sensory evaluation, Organoleptic skills/techniques.
• Thorough understanding of how to conduct sensory evaluations.
• Knowledge of Food Microbiology.
• Understanding of statistical process control.
• Ability to organize and develop standardized tests on products and material.
• Knowledge of the company, government and industry quality assurance and regulatory standards.
• Formal training in animal welfare practices
• Well developed interpersonal, communication, analytical, diagnostic and time management skills. Effective problem prevention, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
• Valid Food Handlers’ card.

Other Requirements

• Willingness to work on a fixed-term contractual basis, with renewal dependent on demonstrated performance and success in the role.
• Flexibilty to work shifts (including weekends and public holidays) as required by the operational demands of the facility.
