The Best Dressed Chicken Division of Jamaica Broilers Group Limited is seeking a skilled and dependable Painter to join the maintenance team at our Feed Mill in St. Catherine. This role is crucial for protecting our assets, ensuring equipment longevity, and maintaining a professional appearance across the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, scraping, sanding, and applying necessary primers.
• Apply paints and coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment, accurately mixing products to specification.
• Perform corrosion protection and rust treatment on plant equipment.
• Maintain and properly storing all painting tools, scaffolding, and safety gear.
• Ensure strict safety compliance, including proper handling and storage of hazardous materials (paints, solvents).
• Support the wider maintenance team with minor repair tasks as required.

Quaification and Experience:

• A minimum of two (2) years' practical experience in industrial or commercial painting.
• A High School Diploma or equivalent qualification. 
• Certification or vocational training in painting would be an advantage.
• Proven skill in surface preparation and the application of protective coatings, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of different paints, coatings, and primers, and the corresponding application techniques.
• A good understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Other Requirements:

• Willingness to work on a contractual basis, with renewal dependent upon demonstrated performance and success in the role.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by the operational demands of the facility.
• Good physical stamina and ability to work at heights or in confined spaces.
• Frequent exposure to dust, fumes, paint chemicals, and solvents (requires PPE).
