The Best Dressed Chicken division of Jamaica Broilers Group Limited invites applications from highly motivated and capable individuals to join our team as Mechanical Technician Trainees. This role offers a structured pathway for career development within a leading organisation in the poultry industry.

 

We are seeking candidates who possess a foundational understanding of mechanical principles and a strong commitment to learning and excellence. This is a fixed-term contractual role, with the potential for renewal based on the successful demonstration of skill development, impactful performance, and alignment with operational needs. 

The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency and potential in the following key areas:

 

Competencies:

  • Foundational knowledge of mechanical principles, systems, and industrial equipment.
  • Strong analytical capabilities coupled with effective problem-solving skills to diagnose and address technical issues efficiently.
  • Competency in mathematics for technical calculations and measurement analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills for clear and effective interaction with team members and supervisors.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • A HEART Trust NTA CVQ/NVQ-J certificate in a relevant field (preferred).
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent certification (for example, recognised passess in CXC/CSEC).

 

Other Requirements:

  • Must have the flexibility to work a shift system, which includes weekends and public holidays, as operational demands require.
