The Best Dressed Chicken Division of Jamaica Broilers Group Limited is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician, who will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of all equipment and systems within our chicken hatching facility

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on all hatchery equipment, including incubators, hatchers, ventilation systems, water systems, and other related machinery.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues promptly and efficiently.
• Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty components, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records of all work performed.
• Assist with the installation of new equipment as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate effectively with hatchery staff to identify and address maintenance needs.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment.

Qualifications

• At least a Level 3 Certification in Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance or the equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Proven experience preferably in an agricultural, manufacturing, or similar industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.   
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.   
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.   
• Flexibility to work on shift or respond to after-hours emergencies.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, humidity, and noise.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
