VACANCY
Jamaica Broilers Group Limited is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team at the Best Dressed Chicken Feed Mill located in Free Town, Old Harbour, St. Catherine. As a Lubricant Technician, you will play a critical role in our reliability-centred maintenance programme, ensuring the longevity and optimal performance of our industrial machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute scheduled lubrication tasks on all designated equipment using precise methods (greasing, oil changes, and top-ups) according to manufacturer specifications.
- Inspect machinery for signs of wear, leaks, or lubricant degradation; perform basic oil analysis and report anomalies to the Maintenance Manager.
- Manage the storage and handling of lubricants to prevent cross-contamination and ensure that the right product is used for the right application.
- Maintain meticulous digital and manual logs of all lubrication activities, consumption rates, and equipment observations.
- Strictly adhere to Occupational Health and Safety standards, ISO 14001 environmental protocols, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Work alongside the wider maintenance team to assist with mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance cycles.
Qualification, Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of five (5) CSEC subjects (or equivalent), including English Language and Mathematics.
- Technical certification in Mechanical Maintenance or Tribology would a significant asset.
- At least two (2) years of experience in a maintenance or lubrication role within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
- Familiarity with different types of lubricants, delivery systems, and the application of ISO 14001 and GMP standards.
- Strong analytical thinking, a high degree of organisational discipline, and the ability to communicate technical findings clearly.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite for record-keeping and reporting.
Other Important Requirements:
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by the operational demands of the facility.
- Willingness to work on a contractual basis, with renewal contingent upon performance and operational requirements.
