The Best Dressed Chicken Division of Jamaica Broilers Group Limited invites applications from suitably qualified, dependable, and results-oriented individuals to fill the positions of Forklift Technicians at our Processing Plant Spring Village location. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of forklifts and pallet trucks through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and servicing.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Performing preventative maintenance on forklifts and pallet trucks to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Installing, repairing, and replacing defective or worn parts as required. 
• Servicing, adjusting, and tuning forklifts and pallet trucks.
• Reading and interpreting technical specifications, diagrams, manuals, and other documentation to carry out maintenance and repairs.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records, work orders, and service reports.
• Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with company safety standards and established maintenance procedures.
• Responding promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise operational downtime

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should possess:

• A High School Diploma or CXC/CSEC certification.
• A HEART Trust/NSTA CVQ/NVQ-J Award or Certificate in Heavy Duty Equipment Maintenance or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
• Proven experience servicing and repairing forklifts, pallet trucks, or similar material handling equipment.
• Sound knowledge of mechanical systems.
• The ability to read and interpret technical manuals and equipment specifications.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools required for equipment maintenance.
• The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.

Other Requirements:

• Adaptable to flexible shift schedules, including weekends and public holidays.
• Available to work on a contractual basis.
