Jamaica Broilers Group Limited is seeking a dynamic, proactive, and resourceful Assistant Operator/Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of our Cogeneration Plant. The ideal candidate must be a goal-oriented individual with a strong commitment to maintaining all plant equipment and systems at peak performance.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct routine operation, servicing, and repair of the Cogeneration Plant and its related machinery, including utility systems, buildings, and equipment.
• Ensure all plant equipment and systems are maintained in optimal operating condition, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
• Work effectively within a team environment to achieve shared operational and maintenance goals.

Core Qualifications & Competencies

• A minimum of one year of experience in a similar role within a power plant environment.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from an accredited tertiary institution, such as the Caribbean Maritime University.

     Technical Expertise

• • Extensive knowledge of and operational experience with diesel engines, industrial generators, boilers, compressors, and related systems (pumps, heat exchangers, distillation, water treatment).
  • Strong understanding of electrical controls, processors, and electrical energy consumption.
  • Proven experience in water chemistry control/analysis and/or the production of thermal energy and electricity.
  • Familiarity with gas engines and liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants is a plus.

     General Requirements

• • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Resourceful and goal-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Willingness to work under a contract agreement.
