VACANCY
International Poultry Breeders (Jamaica) Limited, a subsidiary of Jamaica Broilers Group Limited, is seeking versatile and proactive Maintenance Technicians. In this role, you will be the backbone of our breeder farm operations, ensuring that both our agricultural equipment and our office infrastructure remain in peak condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute routine inspections and servicing of farm equipment, including feeding systems, egg collection systems, and ventilation fans.
- Maintain office and farm buildings, covering basic plumbing, electrical repairs, masonry, and carpentry.
- Respond rapidly to equipment failures to minimise downtime and ensure the safety of the breeder flock.
- Monitor and maintain backup power systems (generators) and water purification/distribution systems essential for farm life.
- Ensure all work is performed in alignment with the Company’s strict Occupational Health and Safety standards and biosecurity protocols.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- A Diploma or Level 2/3 HEART NSTA-Trust Certification in Mechanical Maintenance, Electrical Installation, or a related field.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in an industrial or agricultural maintenance setting.
- Proven ability to handle "handyman" tasks (plumbing/tiling) alongside technical machinery repairs.
- Ability to work in a farm environment, which may include lifting heavy equipment and working in various weather conditions.
- A disciplined approach to following strict sanitization and entry protocols required for breeder farm environments.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
- A valid driver's licence would be advantageous.
